James has twenty years’ experience in energy markets, spanning market design, regulation, commercial strategy, flexibility, renewable integration and investment.

At a fast-growing energy technology company, he built the market understanding and the regulatory team behind expansion into twelve international electricity markets, across flexibility, energy storage, renewables and large energy users. Earlier, he led the technology and internationalisation strategy for a major utility, covering solar, storage and offshore wind, European market expansion, and large energy user planning.

He founded Carysfort Energy to make that experience available independently — to boards, investors and executive teams facing decisions where an early, well-founded view is a commercial advange.
